São Miguel Island

A lot has been said and written about this island. But not with my perspective (naturally ;) )

From a Photographer and Videographer's point of view, there are endless framing possibilities. We have forest backgrounds, lakes, waterfalls, flowers, beaches, rocks, and vegetation. It’s difficult to choose because there is simply not enough time to show and capture in just on full or half-day.

And this is only in São Miguel island. Imagine the other 8 islands that compose the Azores archipelago.

Drone shot of Lagoa do Canário-Azores

For Drone shots, there are so many angles, different light conditions, and environments. I never know what I’m going to get when I reach a mountain or a lake. The weather in the Azores is far from predictable which in the end, turns things more unexpected and more “alive”. It’s part of the adventure.

Nevertheless, the Azores islands are a great place for Drone Tours or Drone Trips if you prefer.

As a guide for several years, I gathered information on some of the best spots and angles to achieve good drone photos/video. (to be continue)
